I have decided upon a new summer project: a blog.
Why a blog? Because I read like a maniac during summers. I spend most of spring semester dreaming about free time during the summer to read books I actually want to read. Books I can curl up with until all hours of the night. Books that do not resemble anything close to the heavy and insanely overpriced textbooks I trudge around for 8-and-a-half months of the year.
A little bit about myself: I am a student entering my last year at my current university. I'll graduate with a BA in Spanish, but I'm not sure I'm really going to do anything with it. Last year I took an American Sign Language class on a whim and fell in love with it, so now, after graduating, I'd like to go to a different school to earn a certificate to be an ASL Interpreter. My goal is to be an interpreter at Disneyland. I love all things Disney, and all things Harry Potter. Some of my favorite things to do are going to the beach, reading, making cards, and going shopping (when I have proper funding to do so.)
This whole blogging idea came from my boyfriend. He's a smart guy: even if I end up with zero readers, it still has good merit. I'll still be able to work on finding my voice as a writer and also try to develop my ability to write book reviews.
Since I've already stayed up too late trying to set up this silly blog, my first review shall be posted tomorrow: The Second Life of Bree Tanner: an Eclipse Novella by Stephenie Meyer.
